I perceive the initiative to be simply a grand mechanism for the Chinese government and their domestic markets; now allowing them to become increasingly international. To foresee China as becoming the next superpower politically and economically is most certainly not a long shot.
Economically, not entirely certain China's focus here, is to address the issues of climate change by utilizing the BRI. Culturally speaking, we will be witnessing a revolution. Many already feel that China has a strong hold over imported products, seeing as though they are indeed the leading country in exportation. It would be wise to fear, this will only increase.
The markets will flood with Chinese production. Consumers will be forced to buy and competing companies forced to comply to Chinese policy. In many fashions this is an invasion.
After all, it is a waiting game. Will China really surpass the strong-willed United States by becoming the next global power? America and the rest of the developing world would be fools to ignore this sign of ambition.
It would be ignorant to deem it as being far fetched. How will countries like the U.S react and manage economically against the Chinese ambitions? This could very well be the beginning of the end of a powerful nation.
